본 연구는 교육 선진국의 미래교육 동향을 파악하여, 우리나라 미래 교육의 방향과 비전을 제시하기 위해 수행되었다. 연구수행을 위해 전문가 집단 토의(FGD: Focus Group Discussion) 방법을 채택하였다. FGD를 위해 교육 선진국과 통합교육의 전문가 6명을 섭외하여 토의를 진행하였다. FGD 분석 결과 교육 선진국의 교육 동향을 교육내용, 교육방법, 교육제도 세 가지 범주로 유형화 할 수 있었다. 교육내용 측면에서는 시민교육과 진로교육을 강조하며 방법적으로는 통합적 교수방법과 지역사회 연계 교육이 활발하게 이루어지고 있었다. 제도 측면에서는 학습자 중심 교육과 개별화 교육을 통한 교육 불평등 감소 노력이 행해지고 있었다. 해외 교육 동향 분석을 통해 미래교육 방향이 사회에 필요한 역량을 기르는 교육, 현재의 문제점 고찰을 통한 정책 개선, 교육 불평등 감소를 통한 사회통합 지향, 교육정책과 운영을 총괄하는 중심타워 설립의 네 가지를 중심으로 추진되어야 한다는 시사점을 도출하였다. 미래 교육은 지속가능발전의 맥락에서 목표가 설정되고 운영되어야 하며, 교육 선진국의 다양한 사례들은 우리나라의 지속가능한 미래 교육비전 수립에 기초자료로 의미가 있다. 이에 해외의 사례와 정책들을 참고로 우리나라의 상황과 실정에 맞는 교육 정책을 수립하여, 대한민국 교육의 미래 비전을 제시할 수 있어야 한다.

The purpose of this study is to identify educational trends in educationally developed countries and to present the direction and vision of future education in Korea. FGD (Focus Group Discussion) research method was adopted to conduct the research. For the FGD, six experts were invited to the discussion. FGD analysis results were classified into three categories: education contents, education methods, and education system. In terms of contents of education, civic education and career education were emphasized, and integrated teaching method and community–based education were actively carried out. On the institutional side, it emphasized learner-centered education that emphasized individualized education and reduces education inequality. It is necessary to establish of a central administration supervises the policy orientation through the reduction of educational inequality and the education policy and operation. Various examples of educationally developed countries are basic data for establishing the vision of sustainable future education. Future education should be considered in the context of sustainable development. With reference to overseas cases and policies, it is necessary to establish educational policies that are appropriate to situations in Korea and present the future vision of Korean education
