This study was conducted to examine the diaspor experiences of Korean children living in Korea. For this purpose, 7 Koryeoin children participating in a special after-school bilingual class for the lower grades of S elementary school in A city, Gyeonggi-do, participated. An in-depth interview and a ‘house drawing activity’ were conducted for the research participants. Collected data were categorized and carried out qualitative analysis. The results were as follows: First, the places of diaspora experienced by Koryeoin children were appeared as ‘private and individual places’. They perceived alone time as a place and time for homework, rest, and leisure. Second, the places of diaspora experienced by Koryeoin children were appeared as ‘social places’. They displayed intimacy, attachment, and longing for a home they talked, ate, and shared with their family. They also demonstrated social interactions and relationships with family and friends, and at their dining venues. Third, the places of diaspora experienced by Koryeoin children were appeared as ‘made places’ created for play with their friends and pets. Based on the above results, a discussion was carried out on the meaning of place for Koryoin children living in Korea.
