The essential elements of the sea god ritual of indigenous far eastern tribes are the sea god as the object of worship, the shrine where the ritual is performed, the shrine where the sea god stays (or the sea god hall), ceremonial items, the person who will worship the sea god and hold the sea god ritual. The far eastern indigenous tribe's sea god ritual transformed and developed through the process of emergence of the sea god ritual (individual event) → use of ritual items such as god statues and ceremonial vessel (group ritual) → establishment of the rules and principles of the sea god ritual (group ritual). The sea god ritual of indigenous tribes of the far east is divided into irregular sea god festival and regular sea god festival depending on the regularity of the period of celebration. The ritual is performed in the following order: preparation ritual → ritual of communication with the spirit → ritual of transmission → [gratitude ritual]. The irregular sea god ritual is held on the coast by individuals or families before fishing and sea animal hunting or when fishing and seal hunting are poor, so it has the character of a family ritual. The regular sea god ritual is held once or twice a year in the spring and fall on the banks of the Amur River or along the coast by clans, so it is combined with village and clan festivals. The purpose of the sea god ritual was to pray for success in seal hunting in the spring and salmon fishing in the fall.
